I have a small qst. Im haitian with long curly “nappy” hair, so do i need to put “gel activator” in my hair b4 i define my curls ?

@daqueen626 “Sealing” the ends of you hair with oil helps lock the moisture in. I’ve heard oil acts as a “sealant” only, while I’ve heard some oils can actually penetrate the hair shaft to moisturize. I’ll find out one day, cause I wanna be AWARE too!!
Why do you seal your ends? What is meant by that? My hair isn’t dry looking or feeling and yet so many say their hair is; maybe I don’t know what to look for. I’m new to all of this. I’ve worn my hair curly off and on for years but I did relax it about 3 xs a year. Now I’m learning to let it be. It’s challenging because now I’m concentrating on keeping it healthy. It’s seemed healthy but I am trying to be more Aware? Lol.
@chicness08 Thank you very much! Ive been natural since 98, but Ive only started to wear my hair natural in 08.I seal my ends with oil (either jojoba, olive. or coconut oil. A lot of naturals use shea butter as well), and I then apply a conditioner on top of that. Check out my FIRST “Defining my curls” vid! Hope this helps!

i believe we have the same hair type(3c 4a?, my hair hasnt grown to your length yet. I actually just started my hair journey and i used a horrible product to define my curls, it completely dried my hair out. Any advice for sealing in moisture so hair is soft to touch when its dry? Both you and your hair are beautiful!! how long have u been natural?

@sidaya1 I very rarely use heat, but I usually spray my roots (where I do most of the stretching) with Osis FlatLiner heat protectant. I bump it up with Chi Silk infusion when I flatiron my hair as well.

@shortysgs03 I’ve never diffused my hair before! My hair is pretty thin too, but it takes about 2 hrs to dry, my hair is 90% dry before I stretch, but stretching dries my hair 100%!

@7duohua thanks hon!! I actually get my eyebrows waxed by my mom. I guess I can do a future tutorial on how to pluck and maintain them. As for skincare, that will be up soon =)

Try MUFE’s Aqua Eyes kohl eyeliner pencil in “Mat Black 0L”. It’s the best one, in my opinion. I did a review comparing three types of popular kohl eyeliners, check them out =)
I always have a problem with eyeliner smudging when i put it on the bottom. what would you say is the best eyeliner that would prevent smudging?
