Thumbs up for Steve Swallow, guys!
That drummer’s style reminds me of Rob Garcia
just superb I’d say. Scofield is my favorite improvisation player ever, awsome.
@THeDUDe21892 you dont have to read every comment if you dont want to…they arent impeding your beautiful life journey, and their analyzing probably isnt impeding theirs either
YEAH! Practice time.
… and for us guys that hit things … uhh …ya got any gum? Mixa whatian? You guys are awesome!!! Killin’ band!!! So out and so brilliantly in.
@BassicallyChristian lol thats a good summary of whats going on here!
the girl at 8:29 is too concerned with her chin hair to clap.
@egyptianminor I meant Abm7, since he plays Dorian based lines over it, implying this chord is a ii degree mode, hence from Gb Major/Ionian- I chord, hence more appropriate to refer to the G#m7 as Abm7
A: G#m7 / G#m6 (G#m Dorian/Mel.minor)
B: E7/9/13(+11) (E Myxo/Lyd.b7)
C#m7 F#7 (C# Dorian-ii/V in B Maj)
A 4-3 or G/A (A Myxo/G Lyd.),but @ 1:32 he plays A7+11(A Lyd.dom)or E Mel.minor, since it resolves back to G#m.
Bravo!!! Tova se slusha zadaljitelno sas wiski i dve buchki led ::))))
yikes
@fourfinger451 Figures the correct term is degree. Live and learn.
@fourfinger451 Well, as a matter of fact, I do. But thanks for your initial posting of the pitches (I hope that’s the correct term in English – what I mean are the references to the parent scale in Roman numerals).
is jazz another word for dissonance?
John The Magical … I still have that Go Go cd … love it.

@fourfinger451 You don’t need to apoligize for the before comment, if you had any decency you would for this one though. Do you think posting blanket assumptions proves yourself intellectually supierior to me? Do you think making hateful, know-it-all comments makes your argument about whether the song is G# or Ab look any less ridiculous?
@fourfinger451 how did you realize i don’t like or listen to jazz? Did you hack into my sysstem and see I have only 11,000 Jazz tracks in my i-tunes?
I don’t know why people get the assumption that if somebody studies music that at that point music no longer becomes meaningful. It is a ridiculous assumption rooted in contempt. It would be like saying if I were to study auto mechanics I would no longer enjoy country drives on sunday afternoons.
>
I also don’t know why talking about a songs musical fundimentals can be interprited as pseudo-intellectual dick-swagger. If people didn’t study music today where would tomorrow’s music come from?
Can all of you losers stop talking about theory and what the fucks goin on!? Your probably those people who sit right in the front of a club and instead of listening you analyze everything, then after the show pester the musicians about their gear or what it was they were playing. Its assholes like you that treat Jazz as an intellectual biggest dick competition instead of art.
This has got to be one of the best trios of the past ten years.
@TheApocalyptical1
sorry for the post before i just read your other post and realize you don’t listen to/appreciate jazz, so please disregard my posts as they don’t apply to you. Have an awesome day and please no more comments on jazz videos, thanks
@TheApocalyptical1
sorry if this comes out bad or starts a stupid music war, but I’m in deep rage right now
THE BRIDGE IS NOT IN G# LYDIAN i don’t know where your reading these charts from, but i am actually using my EARS, in any case the bridge is largely atonal but does indeed turn back to Ab Dorian (its in Ab definitely not in G#), its not sub but i see how it could be analyzed as on as sco does use the #11 from ALTERED in his solo, please as i try to tell my student USE YOUR EARS!!!!!
